lope at idle
got an 01 lb7 with few mods. 4 inch up pipe back mbrp ppe boost increase valve ad150 and ppe pillar gauges. was out and about today, got back home and there was a small noticeable lope from the exhaust. engine sounded normal and the rail pressure was at 5k. been driving fine, no white smoke or anything like that, just curious if this is something to worry about and what it may be that's causing it.

A friend of mine had that happen and I think he said fuel pressure regulator, also said its kinda hard to get to.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Could be wrong, he said his truck started lunging at red light when it got bad. |
Question about the ppe frp gauge. Its the plug and play style, by connecting there does that give me an accurate reading, I forgot to include that along with the ad 150 I run cat fuel filters, I'm curious as to if the gauge only reads before the fuel runs through that or if its a true rail pressure reading

It should be as accurate as getting the readings from the obd port.
Try disconnecting it and see if the lope goes away. If not then I agree with JPope on the fuel pressure regulator |
I have read a few threads where the AD's are putting a splash to high of pressure which causes the lope. If you can turn the pressure down a little it might get rid fo the lope.

To much pressure will cause that from a fass or airdog. Or a fuel pressure regulator can and will casue that if it starts to go bad

Had a bad filter head, my bad guys I fixed that a while ago
