Newbie Questions about LB7

I am looking to get my first diesel and have considered a few LB7 CC 4x4's. What can I expect for mpg's empty on the highway at 65 mph? I found one that the owner said was tuned with light mods and gets 23-24 mpg's, is that realistic? What are somethings I should look for or problem areas. I have read they had injector issues but other than that anything I should be concerned with? What is the avg price to replace injectors? Are new inj mandatory or are rebuilt satisfactory?

I've got a 02 crewcab 2500HD an I average 19mpg driving around an about 14-16mpg pullin. All I have is an edge juice/attitude on tow setting. Everything else is pretty well stock. I haven't had to replace injectors yet so can't help with what it might cost. Goodluck with your search.

23-24 is pretty high. 20 mpg is more believable! Just replace the injectors with upgraded GM ones. I know they are pretty expensive, I dont know exactly though :humm:

On the common rail trucks like the LB7 I never recommend going with a reman. They are seem to have issues once you get to the year mark. The cost of replacing injectors depends on who does the work
