Should I buy?
 

Hey guys I'm thinking about making the switch from my gas guzzler to a Duramax. I found a 2001 Duramax 4X4 crew cab with 142,000 miles. I was just wondering what you guys think is a good deal for it and what should I be looking for / checking out on this truck? I heard the 01-02 had a lot of injector issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

See if he will be willing to have the balance rates checked on it. Check for diesel in the oil, smoke blowby the usual.
You can also see if any codes are thrown, see if the trans is slipping.
As for value it all depends on what options it has, and what's all been done to it. Check the book value of it and go from there. Around here you can pick them up usually at low book or a little less
