coolant problem new to the diesel and this site im in need of info please

i just bought a 2001 chevy 2500HD with a 6.6 durmax diesel i do have back round in auto GAS that is none in DIESEL im still looking for the Sparkplugs but what i got is a truck the bubbles in the over flow tank and i was thinking headgaskets then today i took a look at it and still now sparkplugs so i found a hose that gos to the turbo to the coolant hose dead center of the intake and when i pinch it it stops bubbling in the overflow tank i have changed the overflow cap and put new thermostat and still having the problem any help i hear there is a o ring in the turbo for the coolant that goes bad or im i just hoping its not the headgaskets i talked to ashop and they said 4800.00 to replace them ?

Most likely headgasket. The headgasket on the 01 are junk gm release a new improved gasket on 02 and up. I have a 01 and had the something my upper rad hose stayed hard for WEEKS

2500HeavyDuty i bleed the air ou of the system at the thermostat housing the olny way it stops bubbling is if i bock off the hose that comes off the thermostat housing whitch i was told was a bypass valveim not even sure what its bypassing too it looks to be going to the turbo im thinkig headgaskest to rich s imjust tryingto understand why when i pinch that small hose it quits building presser

does it bubble or does it just puke over? Mine puked over when my HG's went, the temp gauges went wonky and a bunch of weird crap

in mid 2006 GM switched to a different design gasket that is layered differently and much better, unluckily for me mine is an early 2006:argh:

My dad had the same problem on his 02 chevy duramax we replaced both thermostats and flushed the cooling system and removed any air from the system. then we figured it was the head gasket and it was. What a pain to do the head gaskets yourself :argh:

the temp gauges dont seem to running hot they seem to be working fine it does purk over when the the system get to muck psi on the cap it blows the coolant out if i let it get low in the overflow it stops blowing it out and never gets hot or blows anymore coolant out but then i have a hard time getting heat and with the winter on its way i will need heat

More than likely it's head gaskets my brother has an 01 DMax nothing was done to the motor sand finally at 160,000 the original injectors went. Then they found the head gaskets were leaking and then the turbo bearings were about to go. So after new injectors new glow plugs new gaskets and new turbo the bill was $6,700. That's why you get an lbz.:argh:
