6.2 vs 6.5 Perfect Build

With the 6.5TD out of my truck, I have been looking for a replacement. I went to look at a 6.5TD from a 96. It won't start so I didn't buy it. After returning home and searching for another engine, I found a 6.2 engine for really cheap, so i picked that up.

IIRC, somewhere I read said that a 6.2 bottom end with 6.5 heads and turbo will run like a raped ape.

I'd like to hear everyones opinion on what combination of parts between the two engine will work the best together. Or last longer. Thanks

I've pretty much decided to keep the bottom end of the 6.2 alone and keep the stock heads on it. all i will use from the 6.5 will be: injection pump and injector lines, intake and exhaust manifolds, water pump, oil pump drive gear, and all serpentine accessories.

I have been told that the injector in the 6.2 heads are at a different angle than the 6.5 injectors. I decided to check that out. I installed two injectors into the 6.2 heads and partially installed the 6.5 injector lines for those two cylinders. Although the picture below is not that clear (sorry), it is still noticeable that the difference is minute. I believe I will installed the lines to the injectors first, and then tweak them to fit the injection pump.
