Do you guys know anything about these trucks.I been wanting to find out what it will take to make one high way driveable.I would like to be able to pull a 30ft goose neck accross the country to fairs with the truck.

yeah I do... just sold my m1009 if you get one stock from the auction website you will need to a bunch of work usually. Top speed 55 Most of the guys do a lift kit and run 37" tires and are able to do 65 on highway. great trucks with no bells and whistles

I wouldn't want to pull anything far with one of those. They ride like a brick sh!t house. Tough as nails truck tho. Great 4x4 bush beater. |
my 3/4 ton m1009 rode great and my girl wanted to sell her ford escape and drive my truck. Once you get thru all the quirks with the truck and bypass all the stupid stuff the trucks are awesome!

what stupid stuff are you talking about? i grew up in a early chev. and would love to pick one up but the only ones i find still in good condition are the military ones. What is needed? i'm building a performance v-8 turbo diesel with the 6.2, is it engine stuff?

He's talking about the stupid 24 volt starting system. The rest of the truck is 12 volt. You need to rip that crap out. |
