What makes you think anything is different ? My guess would be the usual van stuff, oil filler, dipstick, etc. :c:

The angle on the heads where the intake manifold bolts is different.

well sooner or later i will know , probably when im up to my arm pits in it :s::argh:

Changing the heads is the most common way. The van has the turbo mounted in the center .

Arn't the heads usually the problem ? :humm:

Van heads have different angles on the intake mounting bolts.
Van 6.5's are center mount and the exhaust won't fit in the GMT400 Chassis without firewall modification. Center mount turbo's have oil return lines in the valley, need to be blocked off. Few other little bits I'm probably forgetting (like the turbo oil return adapter where the mechanical fuel pump used to live once upon a time). Easiest solution: Pull the heads off the turbo engine and swap it all over to the van block. Exception: IIRC, if the van is NA I think the intake bolt holes are the same angle as the turbo heads and will work "as is". If you go this route, make sure your turbo fuel injectors fit the van heads before you get too deep into it.... |
