1983 Chevy K20 Upgrade/Restoration project.
I'm looking to put a turbo and new exhaust system in it. I was wondering which turbo is recommended without blowing up my engine. If necessary, I will replace whatever is needed. I found one I really like, but I'm reflecting about how much power it gives to the old engine. The engine is getting a big tune-up this weekend. So just was hoping for some advice.
This is the turbo I'm currently looking at: Industrial Injection S4T Big Bro Turbo |
Too much. The 6.5's only put out 15 lbs of boost.

What would you suggest? Just a normal turbo kit?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I want my truck to be able to do whatever I ask it to. Its going to have a roll cage in the cab, roll bars in the back, new front and back bumpers, lights on top (rotatable with a controller), tow package, 4" lift, winch, and on the bottom a protective sheet of metal like an MRAP (V Shaped). Just need the engine strength and longevity. If its not worth putting a turbo on this beast, I'll just prep for the replacement diesel engine, which I will have money set aside for. |
Only company I know of that carries the entire kit is Banks Performance. One of our sponsors may be able to get you one. Start a new thread in the price quote section.

Find a 6.5 and take the turbo and manifolds of and put them on your 6.2.

I would suggest Banks. They're a great company with quality systems. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, but I'm running one, and it's fantastic.
