Newbe help
 

Hi peoples!
I just bought a 95 1500 6.5 turbo deisel this past summer it ran good till last week.
My problem is diesel knock and black smoke. It doesn't seem to have any pattern
I could just be crusing down the hiway it just does it off and on but mostly when I hit the pedal. I have checked the waste gate and vacume pump they seem to be working.
I am starting to think its worn fuel ejectors. I do have GMTSscan tool to run a diagnostic but I can't find any info on specs what everything should be at in ideal conditions.
Any help out there?

check air cleaner filter and air intake for clog like a rats nest

i do OPS and LP test

check clean all grounds 2 or 3 at the back right of motor they are the computer grounds and there also ground strap right under A/C Dryer on the firewall one goes to back of the head and the other to the frame make sure they are good and there a ground on top of the IP for PMD check it

it could also be PMD going south on you i have seen them do that and PMD don't set code of most of the time

I would do test and ground check be saying a PMD
