6.2 auto trany blues
 

I have a 83 chev suburban 4x4 with 6.2L and auto overdrive it hesitates when shifting from first to second the trans shop said it would be $1800 to $2800 to replace any other options out there or a place to get a good one they said because it is a 83 parts are hard to find and a normal 700R4 wont work in the diesel any help would be appreciated i just dont knw if it is worth putting that kind of money in or just junk it out the rest of it is nice and engine runs good

A regular 700r4 will work with a diesel. You need to keep the torque converter from the diesel model since they are different and you may need to change out the governor (I changed mine out with one from a gasser and did not have to change the governor, but some do). The case does need to be for 4wd though since the tail piece is different between 2wd and 4wd.
