DTC P0231- stalling issue

Hi everyone...
New to the site here, and I really like it so far.. Lots of helpful info on here. But I am have have an issue with my 97 chevy 3500HD. Truck has 395,000 miles. Truck started having an issue when i would start it, it would just die Like someone turned the key off. I have read about the PMD being the possible issue. SES light has been on since i bought the truck last week. Pulled the code this morning and got P0231-fuel pump secondary circuit low. Any ideas???? Truck will start at random and then die. Makes for a real pain to restart. I can here the lift pump running. I am new to the 6.5 so any help would be great...
Thanks:argh:

ok just because the Lp runs does mean it working put 12 V right to the LP see if aee if working buy open the T-Valve on the T stat house i mean just put the key to on spot

if the LP is bad get one for 93 little more psi

Thaks for the reply crazy,
Yea that was where i started at this moring after i pulled the code. I bought the truck about a week ago, and it looks like the intake had been off recently. When i got it home I had to unhook both batteries to replace the cables. Truck really started acting up when i reconnected them and started the truck. ses light was on before i unhooked batteries. But when i was under the truck today, got to looking and the connector for both the factory wiring and the pump have been cut off and half way connected back together... I am going to go ahead and replace the lp with one for a 93 and fix the connectors..... But got to doing some looking under the hood.. and there was quite a bit of fuel standing under the fuel filter housing... So i pulled the intake and looks like the hoses are old and brittle. I got everything cleaned up and got to looking and the resistor in the pmd isnt installed... Wondering if maybe that is causing some of my issues since the batteries were dosconnected......:pca1:

i have heard some truck resistor will gave some trucks problems it like my truck i can't run # 9 resistor at all truck don't like it and doesn't madder what PMD or what 9 resistor i put in any ways back your problem also look at the fuel filter house there are 2 O-Ring in it they like leak also where have take off to replace fuel line it be good time replace O-Rings and clean out good and good time do mod get some thread rod cut them to about 6" and few Nuts raise the fuel housing so it be easy to see if have any leaks be little easy to get change filter
