Possible Ingition Switch Issue?

I have experienced a problem where my truck will not crank. The volt gauge is bottomed out on the low side when the key is turned and there is no crank or click out of the starter. The glow plugs don't sound like they are cycling but the fuel pump will work. Battery checked out fine, lights and other accesories don't show any abnormal current draw. I jumped the starter with a screw driver and it would crank but not start because the injection pump fuel solenoid was not energized. When I jumped the injector pump solenoid the voltage gauge jumped up and the ignition switch now worked and the truck started without the jumper wire to the injection pump solenoid. This has happened twice in the last 2 weeks and the first time it happened after I hit the manual glow switch the voltage gauge normalized and the truck would crank and start. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for reading this.

Thanks for the reply
Didn't check the small wire at the starter, pretty cramped in there with the turbo and all. I know the battery ground is good, and through out my various builds on this truck I've payed close attention to grounds.
Are the aftermarket ingition switches ok?

i couldn't tell you aftermarket is good or not

don't for get to check the grounds and ground straps at back of the right side of motor those are the ground for the ECM

No ECM, removed when I converted to diesel. I'll double check the engine ground to the cowl.
