i bought a 1995 GMC 2500 wit the 6.5 and was wondering how what and how to adjust the waste gate. the kid said he did it himself and i want to know how to adjust it if needed any help would be appreciated , thanks .

bahahaha u go and tell that kid hes a :edit: genious thats hilarious. does it have gauges u just need to turn the star wheel to adjust dont play if u dont have gauges and cause tis already been :edit: with buy gauges and make sure ur not runnin more than 15 psi or this thing will grenade faster than gm intended

well witch way is it supposed to be adjusted the lil nob in or out i am buying the gauge this week but i been driven it around a lil bit and i dont want it blow up thanks for the reply

the tighter the spring the more boost. thats a pretty ghetto setup, look at the heath turbo master, thats the setup you wanna copy. Also, that tube going into the oil filler needs to go to that plugged hole in the intake. its not gonna work right in the filler tube. He moved it to stop it from getting oil in the turbo, but IIRC the canister does rely on vacuum to work right. the way its set up now, it might as well just be removed and the hole plugged, which will probably cause the motor to push oil out of wherever is the next easiest place.

as for the boost line, you need to remove the intake plenum on top of the manifold and drill and tap it.

on a second look, that canister is supposed to be on the passenger side valve cover with the tube into the intake tube. Someone else chime in if i'm wrong, but it looks to me like its basically back asswards.

thanks for the help that canister was on the the intake i moved everthing outta the way to take the pic where is the right spot for that canister to be on the valve cover ? i know nothing about these motors so i need some help, i only bought the truck for 700 bucks, so when i bought i knew there was gonna be some issues that need to be addressed i appreciate the feedback guys i am lost wit this thing .

Is the old wast gate still around here good way to make one



Here's the adj controller i fabbed up. Hope it helps ya'll.
First pic is the original with the "lip" ground off and pop'd apart with the new 1/4" rod i bent. Second is the thing attached, third is the adj end. Total cost $5.97. I measured the length between the inside of the lever hole to the step on the original rod. Then when i installed it, made the length the same. 10 5/8" on the GM-3. After i get the truck back together, i'll use the pyro & boost gauges to set the boost and turn up the 4911 if needed.

spring that was used wasn't much more then spring that was in wast gate. it not going matter cause you be able to adjust it with the nut

Oh don't used self locking nut i found it was to much heat and the plastic in nut melted just double nut it
