Need a new pump...

i'm not a 6.5 guy, so i'm asking for my dad...

His truck is a 1996 GMC Suburban 6.5 TD, stock truck...

is the fuel pump a Stanadyne DS ? and is there a performance alternative that can be had cheaper ??? his pump died and we need a replacement, Icelandic provider quoted us 247.000ISK (wich comes to around 2000$)

Have there been any "better" pumps out there ??

What have people been doing for a little more power on these engines ?

Are there no free horsepower on these engines as on the P7100 Cummins trucks ?

A shop in my town wants to do a conversion to a 6.2 pump ??? mechanical ???

a ds4 pump with the right tune will throw out more fuel than any mechanical db2 pump. no theres not really any other option than those two. now the db2 will throw out a decent amount of fuel but your fuel efficency will go down as its a mfi. basically you got to decide how much money you want to spend and whats avalible.

ds4 ??? db2 ??? wich is the 6.2 ? and wich is the 6.5 pump ???

Woody35 11-01-2010 06:36 PM
