FS: 6.5 Turbo Diesel Mechnical Injection Pump

5 Attachment(s)
I have a mechnical injection pump for a 6.5 turbo diesel. This pump is new pump made by Stanadyne of course. The model number is D1 DB2829 4521. I bought this pump for a truck that I had bought cheap and once tore into the motor that it needed to be replaced. I didnt want to spend the money on a motor so I sold the truck without a motor and now I am going to sale the pump. Make a offer on this pump as I know I will not get what I paid for this high dollar thing. I also have a new set of GM injectors to go with or without the pump. Any questions just email me and I will help the best I can. I am in Wichita Falls Texas. Thanks Kcbiggs76@aol.com

Sure would like to know if its possible or worth while to swap out an electrical IP for the mechanical one? What year is this for anyway?

you can but its not worth it to do it. efi is a lot better in these trucks

Look up Bobbie Martin. He has authored a book on the conversion. You can do it, but Woody is correct, it's alot of additional money and parts chasing. Once done, you have a more simple pump, true, but it's not that much different from the electronic version, but now you can't tune it via programming.

SWAPPING A MECHANICAL '93 6.5 T/D INTO A '95 6.5 T/D DUALLY 4X4?

:humm:CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME OF PROBLEMS WHICH MAY ARISE WITH SUCH A SWAP. I ALWAYS HEARD MECHANICAL PUMPS WERE MORE RELIABLE, AND HAVE GONE THRU 3 PMD'S/FSD'S.
I ALSO HEARD THAT IN ORDER FOR THIS SET UP TO WORK, A "POTENTIOMETER" WILL HAVE TO BE UTILIZED TO SHIFT TRANS, AS COMPUTER WONT BE GETTING SIGNALS SPECIFIC TO THE '95 ELEC CONTROLLED 6.5'S COMPUTER, ALSO THIS '93 ENGINE HAS 300 HP? ON VALVE COVER WITH A 3400 PEAK TORQUE LEVEL AS WELL...NEVER HEARD OR SAW SUCH AN ENGINE, COMPLETE, LOW MILES, TOP "TURBO POWERED" COVER AND ALL. WILL CRUISE CONTROL WORK AS WELL, I KEPT THE GAS PEDAL ASSY. ANY HELP ON THIS SWAP/PROBLEMS WITH SUCH, WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED (WILL THE '93 6.5 SWAP INTO A '99 350 CUBIC INCH DENALI YUKON AS WELL? - THANKS

first of all could you turn the caps lock off please. on the internet that is usually means your yelling. if you relocate your pmd behind the bumper and add two stroke oil to every tank there is no difference of the reliably from the electronic and mech pump.

for the tranny i know you could use a standalone computer for infinite control but some people have used the computer for tranny shifting. not sure on details but check out bobbie martin. he wrote book just about this swap. never heard of the potentioner method before.

cruise control will work if you grab it off a mecanical truck. never heard of that type of engine. its possble it is a marine engine because gm never had a 6.5 rated from the factory with 300 hp. im sure the 99 swap would work as anything is possible with the right technical and electrical knowledge but i bet it would be harder than a obd-1 diesel swap as it is obd2 and orginally a gasser.
