Overheating Problem

I have a 1996 1-ton dually 6.5L turbo with heath diesal GL4 computer, 4 inch exhaust downpipe back. afe intake, Turbomaster wastegate set around 13psi.

When I am pulling my trailer around 5000 pounds the truck will heat up to over 210 degrees, but the egt are only around 800 degrees. Then went a let it idle for a few mins. it cools right back down. And I am not loosing any coolant.

I have a new radiator, water pump, radiator cap, hoses, and a/c condensor.

Any idea's?

if the egts dont get very high then i dont see how the motor could be running that hot, i have ran higher egts with a way lower engine temp. have you checked the guage to make sure its not faulty? mine was showing it was running way above 210 just driving around, it turned out to be a problem with the guage... just an idea

Was it the sender or the gauge itself. I was kind of thinking it might be the gauge or sensor because the truck just does not seem hot. It is not throwing any codes when the gauges say it is 235 degree and no coolant is spiting into the overflow.

it was the sending unit. and if it were running 235 degrees im sure it would be over flowing coolant
