83 6.2 gauge cluster
 

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site, but not to the game, anyways. I inherited an old 83 c-10 with 6.2 in it. It had sat for over 10 years before i got it. Well i finally got it running, and it actually runs pretty good. Only problem i have is with the stock gauges in the dash. the volt meter, oil psi, and temp are inop, and the fuel gauge does whatever it wants. the fuel gauge, i'm not too concerned with for now, but does anyone know if the three other gauges share a common ground, or common fuse somewhere? i've checked the fuse block, and i don't see one that says anything about instrument panel? any ideas?

i would clean all the grounds personally. i cant imagine all the corrosion and rust bulit up after sitting ten years

Have to remove the entire cluster from the dash. There is a printed circuit ribbon that needs the contacts cleaned. Been there on few older GM trucks.

Well I pulled the cluster out today, the ribbon looks to be in good shape, I do not see any corrosion, rust or cuts, tears. Not real sure where to go from here, I guess I could just put a set of manual gauges in it and be done, but I'd rather have it all working properly.

well, i decided not to mess with it, bought a set of manual gauges and put them in the dash cluster in place of the stock gauges. looks real good, almost factory. but i need help finding sending units on the engine, where is the oil psi and coolant temp sending units on these?
