What parts do I need to turbo a 6.2

Hey, I found a wrecked truck that had a 6.5 turbo in it. The turbo is missing, but the exhaust manifold was still there, along with most of the engine. Besides the turbo, what else do I need? Would a holset from a first gen dodge bolt up to the 6.5 manifold? And I'm not sure how to run the oil lines...any ideas or advice?

Install a 'T' at your oil pressure sending unit and run a line to the top of the turbo (oil inlet) and the drain should go down to the fuel pump block off plate (where the lift pump is on a 6.2). The holset could work, but not without HEAVY modification (intake and exhaust welding). You'll also need a way to control the wastegate. You could use the laggy unreliable vacuum setup on a usual GM-X, but most people opt for a Heath Turbomaster. I forgot to ask, are you setting THAT motor up to run again with a turbo, or putting a turbo on your K5 6.2?

I don't plan on going to a 6.5. I was just going to use the parts from the 6.5 to turbo my 6.2. I wasn't even thinking about a wastegate. My first gen dodge didn't have one, so I thought I would see if I could do the same with the 6.2. Do I really need the wastegate?

im using my phone so i dont have access to all my data, and what all parts you will need to turbo a 6.2. When i get back to the base ill fire up the laptop and get you better intel. You need the wastegate to control your boost. The 6.2 has very high compression and can only handle 10-12 psi MAX. An uncontrolled wastegate could also lead to dangerously high EGts, then melted pistons.
