good post Jenn, sounds like the PMD, you might need one of those PMD coolers, they are pretty effective, but the biggest thing is to check the ground on it, most of the time, its the ground and not the PMD.

If it is the PMD, then a PMD cooler is the ONLY way to go...get a remote mount extension from either kennedy diesel or heath diesel...and get it out of the engine bay. The PMD's worst nightmare is the extreme heat caused by being mounted in the valley of the engine...the only sure way to fix it is to get it away from the heat...

as stated, it could be a lift pump, or Oil Pressure Switch (OPS) To check the LP, see if it's running while the engine is running...if you listen closely, you should be able to hear, or at least feel it vibrating. If it's not running, it could be either one of the two. The OPS controlls power to the Lift Pump. Run a jumper wire to the LP...if it comes on, then the OPS is bad...if it doesn't, it's probable that it's the LP, or Both...

as said before...check for codes...jumper the "A" and "B" ports on the ALDL connector and post your results

OBD2 is your best bet. What jimmy said works for 95 and below. Go with heath. Everything is warranty for 7 years!:U:

Broken 6.5L TD

It ur PMD (the plastic thing mounted on the side of the injector pump). Same thing happened to mine and to everybody i know who owns one. they sell a pmd isolator to stop that from happening again.

I am having a problem with the stalling but it runs fine otherwise. it will skip or stall but start right back up. any help would be great. I have been told either bad fuel or injector pump. I have refilled tank 25 gallons and appears to have same problem.
tks dave

My truck's doing this same thing. It just cuts out at random times, doesn't seem to matter if it's during acceleration, deceleration, braking, whatever. It just seems to do it randomly. I'm thinking it's the PMD. Is there some way to test it before I go out and spend 550 bucks on one? Oh, by the way, it's a 94 k2500 with the 6.5 turbo

Heath Diesel sells the best solution out there, GM/Stanadyne screwed the pooch with on IP location of the driver. Any location under hood is bad, period. Even if this isn't your issue, but this sounds like classic PMD issue your truck will be better for it.
