aWhite Smoking 1998 GMC 6.5 turbo Diesel

We just replaced the head gasket of my 1998 GMC Sierra due to blown head gasket and blowing white smoke. Now its running but stays at about 250 degrees hot and start emitting white smoke again. This engine wqs rebuilt 10 months ago and has logged less than 20,000 miles since. The company that rebuilt the motor in Phoenix. AZ is under new management and won't honor the 1 year or 100k miles warranty. Any suggestion re this problem.

Thanks a lot

Jerry

well at 250 degrees you probably cooked the gasket again. these trucks need to stay under 210 or bad things will happen. did you happen to pop test the injectors for the new engine.

It sounds to me like they never got the head flat or it was cracked when they put it on. When you pull the head off almost all of these heads will have cracks between the valves. Most of the time it is just a surface crack you just have to make sure it has not gotten to water jack yet. The head has to be dead flat along with the deck if there is any warp or groves in ether of them it will blow a head gasket.
