moron needs help with the names.

Hi

I'm new here. I know a little bit about my van but not enough. I have an oil leak in one of the hoses that go to my oil radiator. I don't know what the hell they are called so I can get new ones. I know its a stupid question but I'm sunk for buying parts with out it. So little help so i can get to some of my questions that may seem less stupid thanks.:argh:

Does it go to the trans. or to the engine?

hmm

its hard to track where it ends up without a lift. I do know that it comes off the oil radiatior in the front. I was going to replace the to and from as if one needs it the other probably does too. I will have to investigate further.

Engine oil cooler lines. They aren't really needed, unless you do some towing. If you don't, remove em from the radiator and at the oil filter housing. Remove the brass fittings and toss in a couple bull plugs. :tu:

The hoses that go to the oil radiator would be oil cooler lines there a two on it and you will need to know if its a to or a return. If the come from the trans then its a trans cooler line.

If it is just leaking where the steel line is crimped on to the rubber line you can just cut off the outside of the crimp and just use a hose clamp.you have to be careful that you don't damage the rubber hose. Or if it is an oil cooler line you can bypass the cooler but you my have to get a line made because sometimes you can't just plug off the lines. I tried to just plug off the lines on my truck but when I did that the oil would not go through the filter it would go through the bypass port and you have trouble building the correct oil pressure.

those oil return lines are notorious for leaking and they will soon fail if you dont replace them with a nice braided lines and 90 degree fittings. either that or plug it.
