---AutoMerged DoublePost--- well i got it 2 start with out chaning the filter. i replaced both batteries. but i still would like to change the fuel filter by my self but still dont know how to bleed the lines?:nope: |
Oh, hey.
I believe they got electric fuel pumps on that model year, so all you do is change the filter, turn the key to on, bump the starter, then wait about a minute. If no electric pump, fill the fuel filter, then start the truck. |
do u recommend i fill the fuel filter either way just to b on the safe side?
|
yes change the fuel filter no matter what especially since you just bought it, and you never know when the last time it was done was

on OBD1 6.5 which you have the easiest way to get the lift pump working without the engine running is to put 12v to lift pump soleniod located behind black cover on the passenger side of the truck. or you can fill fuel manager with fuel and crank for a long time till engine starts up. if the truck has already started no need to put more fuel in there. it is already filled automatically

ok thanks guys i will try that. what oil do u recommend i use 4 the oil change on it? it has 105k miles on it.

i see your from chicago just like me so you know the weather we have. i suggest Rotella. mobile delvac or amsoil 5w40 synthtic oil. a lot easier cold starts and it warms up quicker than regular 15w40 oil.
