Truck will not warm up.

I have a 94 Yukon with a 6.5L and the enging will not warm up. Temp gauge only comes up to second line on gauge. Have changed the thermostat and the fitting that comes off the water jacket. Have also changed the fan clutch as old one was locked up and wouldnt release. also changed heater core. Anything i am missing or any ideas what could be wrong.:argh:

Maybe it's cold enough to where you have to block the radiator with cardboard.

Just put some in, Havent gone anywhere to see if it works or not yet. We changed the heater core cause there is very little heat in the cab.

Don't worry about it overheating cruising down the highway/freeway empty if you forgot to remove the cardboard. Mine stays just below 200.

i asume none of the coolant is dissapearing?

bonk 12-15-2008 09:00 PM

No none of the coolant is disappearing. The cardboard did get me one more line on the gauge. I still have the top half of the fan shroud off from changing the fan clutch this afternoon. Would that make a difference?

wildbill 12-15-2008 09:05 PM

It would a little bit, because the shroud helps the fan suck more air from the outside of the radiator to the inside.
