Motor home 6.2

I may be getting a 1980 chevy 21 ft motor home. I know the 6.2 didnt come out until 82 but would it be a relatively simple swap? I want something that will get good mpg but have the neccessary power and low maintenance. Any input?

forget about a 6.2.......and if you do put a 6.2 in it you better make sure its got a good gear.......my 6.2 3/4 ton suburban runs good with 4.10's but i dont think it would have the power with 3.73's......

Thats what i was afraid of. I guess a cummins 6bt would be the way to go.

if its a class c and has a van front end on it i think it would be really hard to put a cummins in it not much room for the V8 under there much less a big old cummins just a thought

If your wanting to put a 6.2 in there might as well get a 6.5L. Basically the same engine but much better running and more power then the 6.2L especially if you get a turbo 6.5L.
