1993 c3500 basket case almost done

I’m new here, and I’m from New Mexico. I’m finishing up a 93 c3500 basket case. It was a 6.5 turbo truck originally I got it with a 6.2 that had a broken crank——- 8m puttin* a 6.5 engine from a 95 8nto the truck BUT I’m using all the mechanical pump from the 6.2 (becaus3 that is what I have)
there has been so much modified and changed on the truck it’s taken m3 along tim3 to get rid of all the crap and get it back to “original” BUT I still have a couple questions
exhaust manifold studs —- are they the spring loaded kind or just nut and washer?

ive got an extra heat shield that is about 12-14” long maybe 6” wide and is curved ——- where does it go?

positive battery cable on passenger side battery, there is a 10 gauge wire that goes to the distribution block there is also a small 18 gauge wire (looks black) that plugs into 5he harness near the a/c accumulator (barrel type connector) can anyone tell me where it’s supposed to go?

near the cam sensor is there is another barrel (round 2-3” long) electrical connector hanging from the harness what is that one supposed to connect to?
other than those things and un jerryrigging the switch that controls the fuel pump im almost done!!!!
if you can help with any of these question I’d appreciate the help!!!

one more question the turbo I have (95) has a vacuum port that would actuate the wastegate, I have no vacuum source any suggestions on what to do to control the wastegate?

If anyone has wiring harnesses diagrams I would love to have some to print and save for future problems

Only electric hookups Needed on 92-93 are the fuel filter housing The IP and for the Oil pressure sensor not sure what the one is by the crank sensor but you will not need either of those, and the waste gate on a 93 is Amechanically operated system no vacuum needed.
and you might want to look up and do the OPS mod and check and see if you need to do a snorkel mod

The ops mod is probably what needs to be done, the lift pump is currently on a toggle —— so I’ll look into that once I get the other issues taken care of! I just did that snorkel mod you mentioned, but I don’t have an original air box yet (missing) so when I find one it’s done.
does the 93 have the fluid sensor on the radiator? I’m wondering if that might be the wire grouped with the battery cable on the passenger side?
I hope I can fire it up today
do the exhaust manifold to crossover pipe connections have springs on those bolts?
waiting on a carrier bearing and turbo mounting gaskets from the parts store. My turbo is junk but (very loose shaft) but I need to mount it to fire it up (oil). I’ll probably put a new cartridge in it or I may just upgrade to one of the hx35 turbos off eBay

Odd —- I replied earlier and now it’s not here—— ?,?
wondering if the little wire that goes in the bundle to the passenger battery might be a water sensor for the radiator? I don’t know if they had that in 93 but the radiator I got from an older truck has that sensor so maybe???
put some fresh batteries in it and fired it up the turbo that I know was bad barely moves and pukes oil out the exhaust so I need to figure out if I’m going to put a cartridge 8n it or ma6be do an hx35 (from ebay) swap
i de-snorkeled it today but since I don’t have an air box yet it really isn’t going to help 😀😀😀
I’ll look into the oil pressure sensor mod —— that’s probably why my lift pump was wired through a toggle

You can put new bushings in that stock turbo for cheap I think they were around $20 5-6 years ago and yeah the OPS much safer than running the LP on a toggle if you do the bushings you must have a torch to heat up around the bolts holding it on do not attempt it without a torch.
and yeah forgot about the water level sensor in the radiator.
