Wanting to find out if this is a good deal and worth my time and money. Backstory is, i just bought a 1985 crew cab GMC dually 2 months ago. It has a factory 6.2 with the Banks turbo package. It runs good but i came across this ad and i was wondering if it would be worth my time...i dont know how many miles are on my motor, atleast 125k but prolly 225k. i am brand new to diesels so i dont know what i should ask or look for. Any help would be amazing! The guy built the motor himself, so it is basically his word on all the details. No way to verify age or mileage. It sounds like its a 6.2 block with 6.5 everything else. Is that good? Its a computer controlled motor, and i have a pre computer truck, is there any issues with that? He is asking $3,750. Says he built it about 2.5 years ago and has just under 30k miles on it. He is selling the motor only, not the truck. When he finds a buyer, he is gonna yank the motor out. He is selling because he is putting a cummins 12 valve in his truck. I am selling this engine complete with the following components, Dual thermostat crossover, Engine oil cooler and connecting hoses, Intake and exhaust manifolds, Custom made crossover pipe, GM8 turbocharger with turbomaster mechanical wastegate control, Glow plug relay, Starter, Water pump and Flex plate. This engine has 29,000 miles on it and runs awesome while delivering 16 MPG all around pushing a one ton dually, but don't take my word for it come and drive it for yourself.any help is greatly appreciated!
