Default TCC manual lock up question

Hello Everyone.
I have a question about Installing a TCC lock up switch. I've been pouring over pages and pages in multiple forums to no avail. From what i've been reading that generally while in lock up your transmission will run cooler but i've also read that if the trans/engine temp is too cold it will not allow lock up and vise versa if the trans temp is to high it will also kick out lock up to Increase the volume at which trans fluid is pumped through the cooler. My question is does the transmission (4l80e) have its own temp sensor which will force the TCC to unlock or is it referenced off the ECT? My idea being that i want to have a manual switch to force a lock or unlock situation or just have an auto mode in which the PCM just handles it normally, I want to wire it into a relay though so if the trans does sense an overheat situation it will flip out the relay and automatically hand control back to the PCM.

PS. Truck is 1994 K3500 w 4L80E

Near as I can tell with a quick google search is that the temp is taken from the ECTand the trans does not have a dedicated temp switch from factory but I am by no means a trans tech.
