More 6.5 Trouble Codes
All,
I haven't been around in a while, but now I have a new problem with my 3/4 ton Suburban. I don't drive it much (probably why I haven't been around much ;) ) but I took it out for a 100 mile round trip a few days ago, and the SES light came on for a second or two a few times. I pulled the codes and got a 36 and a 78. I have a remote-mounted PCM, and was wondering if that might be the cause of the code 36 - Injection Pulse Width Error (Response Time Long)? I'm also wondering if the code 78 - Wastegate Solenoid Fault - might be related as well. Are these codes indicative of a looming breakdown? They seem to occur only intermittently when running at freeway speed and the SES light only seems to come on for a second or two at a time. So far I haven't noticed any change in performance when it does come on. I'm concerned because I'm getting ready to take it on a 1900 mile trip to tow my jeep to Moab Utah and back for Easter Jeep Safari. Is it going to be able to make the trip even if I don't find the cause of these error codes? Or am I setting myself up for a breakdown by starting a trip like this with these error codes coming up? Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. |
