Transmission swap question

Hello all,

I'm new here and looking for some help. I did a search and couldn't find an answer so im hoping someone can assist me.

I have a 1994 2500 with the 6.5 and I found the transmission is out of a 1995 or newer.
I know this because it has the switch on the side of the transmission (electronic) whereas the 1994 does not. The issue is that the mechanical linkage has been modified to accept the wider transmission and there is now no room for the front driveline. I'm looking for some input on how to convert to a cable shifter and have hit a wall.

Lokar has a linkage kit and im wondering if anyone has used this and if it still allows room for the driveline and can be used on the 1995+ 4L80 transmission.

I'd be more than happy to swap to a cable style if anyone has done so.

The switch on the transmission seems to be the only barrier with this and id hate to have to swap transmissions because of it. The truck runs well and shifts just fine so I'd hate to throw it out.
If anyone has some input on this I'd really appreciate it, Thanks.
