Stalling like key was turned off
1997 6.5 turbodiesel stalls like key is turned off only for first few minutes of start up. Thought I had it fixed before with a fix on a bad connection but it only lasted a day (could have been the weather it only likes to do it below 60) Brand new relocated pmd, new ops and lift pump both verified working, new fuel shutoff solenoid, replaced ignition switch, cleaned fuel canister and changed filter, checked ip wiring harness. No improvement at all shows service throttle soon when it stalls doesn't feel like an ip failure seems more electronic any ideas on causes after it drives about 15 minutes it's fine for the rest of the day unless you shut it off a couple hours immediate restart after stall without turning key off just shift to neutral and bump the starter fires right off. I'm lost on this one guys

It idles fine also just during light throttle and take off

Ignition switches are fairly common failure items.
next time it stalls observe the instrument cluster and the radio/blower motor. if the cluster dies with the stall but blower/radio keeps working the ignition switch is the likely reason. |

It runs fine with the sending unit for the temp (the two prong one one on top of the engine that the computer reads off of not the one your temp gauge runs off) unplugged till it warms up then replug it. Changed that with a new one with little improvement. Still the only way to run the first 20 minutes of a drive is unplugging it |
AC Delco ONLY for replacement electrical parts.
Any trouble codes? Sounds like a problem with timing? |

Service throttle is a code indication and a pretty big one.
