Horizontal secondary fuel filter

Are their any adverse effects to installing a secondary fuel filter horizontal?

I am adding to my fuel delivery system. post lift pump (and near the lift pump) I will install a 20 micron moeller 33319-10 fuel screen followed by a NAPA 4770 filter base and a CAT 1r-0749 fuel filter. Then up to the fuel manager via existing piping.

the catch is that the CAT filter is 12" long!

I am thinking that I can install it horizontal just like the oil filter that way it would not be hanging below the truck waiting on a rock or worse.

Any comments are welcome.

Might strain a stock LP. Install a fuel pressure gauge if you don't have one. I've heard of people doing duel lift pumps with mixed results.

You might think about deleting your sock filter in the tank and putting your system in pre LP

Correct me if I am wrong but the 6.5 requires a 10 micron fuel filter.

Think they are adding a pre filter post LP and keeping the stock filter?

The cat filter is 2 micron and 26gpm. I am not sure of the rating of the stock filter.

Stock filter is 10 Micron not sure about gpm though.

Correct. post lift pump I will place the screen, then the secondary filter, then up to the primary (stock) filter.
