DESPERATE ABOUT 6.5 L TD STALLING

PUT A NEW PMD ALONG WITH RELOCATION KIT AND RESISTOR (ALL BRAND NEW), NEW LIFT PUMP, NEW OPS, NEW FILTER, CLEANED DIESEL AS WELL AS TANK, CLEANED FUEL LINES, SCANNED IT NO CODES. STARTS GOOD IDLES JUST FINE BUT HIT THE ROAD THERE IT COMES AGAIN. STOPS ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEN RE STARTS AND SO ON.

Post the year of your vehicle.

Have you tested the lift pump running by opening the T valve?

I have had to replace the ignition switches on all of my 6.5's but the 3 1994's.

Could be a bad plug or wire. You didn't say anything about cleaning and adding grounds.

Search my posts for grounds to add. Use plenty of Kopper Kote.

Have you run about 3/4 gallon of fuel out the T drain with the lift pump jumpered?

Have you tried running with the lift pump jumpered? Run into a gallon glass pickle jar or similar. Let sit and look for water bubbles or crud?

Fill the filter bowl with Sea Foam and run it through.

Did you clean the filter bowl when you changed the fuel filter?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

What brands of parts did you use?

There has been a rash of bad - new parts the last several years. For most electrical it is best to use only AC Delco or GM parts.

What did you use for a PMD harness and PMD? Where did you get them?

Does it restart immediately or do you have to wait? If you have to wait. Pour cold water on the injection pump and see if it starts immediately thereafter.

Did you remove the OS filter harness if it had one?

Check my thread on diagnosing the 1994 no run issue, from December 2013. There are some good diagnostic links there.

A no run issue is much easier to find that an intermittent issue.

Is the PMD/IP harness ground fastened to a torx screw on top of the IP?
It MUST be fastened to the IP.

Have you added a ground wire from the PMD heatsink to a battery ground-some trucks need that for some reason?

Is the fuel manager last chance screen in place and clear of debris?
They sometimes stick in the fuel filter and get tossed-in that case it can't be plugged though.

Have you removed the IP fuel inlet and checked the screens there for being clean?

Does the instrument cluster go dead during the stall but radio and blower motor keep working fine?
