Need some 6.2 info

I've been looking at purchasing a 1985 cucv m1008. I have no experience with the 6.2. I've had a couple of 6.5 trucks. Currently have a 92 k3500 6.5. Is the 6.2 comparable with my early 6.5 or apples and oranges?

What should I expect with fuel mileage? Keep in mind the truck has 4:56 gears.

Power? I've heard the 6.2 is somewhat gutless and I have plenty of heavy pulling to do.

Are replacement parts reasonably priced and easy to find?

Thanks for the help.

The 6.2 and 6.5 are nearly identical engines-the 6.5 just has a bigger bore so parts are about equal.

Fuel mileage depends a lot on how heavy your right foot is.

The 6.2 is not great at towing unless you turbo charge it like the 6.5 and even then it is limited.

Fuel mileage is not terrible but 55 mph in a 1008 and it is close to it's top speed But in low range that thing will climb a tree almost I have a stock 1009 and learn from my experience and make sure the starter bracket from the starter to block is on it if not make one 24 volts and loose starter bolts will break the block and chew up a flywheel other than that I love the simplicity of them
