blower motor issues and it is cold at night

Need a little help before I go buying parts.
I have 1995 2500 6.5td and all of the sudden my blower quit blowing at all and then I left on high speed and abt 20 min into the ride it started blowing and blew on high till I turned down to the next speed down and it quit all together and so I turned back on high and again would not turn on and I noticed that when it was running The light would come on for A/C when button pushed in but when blower would not blower there is no power to A/C button . So the next day I took off and same thing . So I seen it could be the resistor but from what I have read there's works on high all the time and no other speeds , and mine will turn on when it wants to as long as switch is high and some times it take 2 hrs and will just turn on as long as on high. Is there a reley for the climate control panel. I have look in relay box under hood and did not see any for blower only on for A/C and I did try a new one but no luck . Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a bad switch. I recently had pretty much the same issue and it turned out to me a bad switch. I changed it and it works just fine, no more issues. And,mine is an 06 Dodge CTD. just tossing it out there.:c:

I would venture to say that you have 2 problems, the resistor as you figured and the heavy red wire that supplys power is overheated at its joint and melted giving internittant contact.

Near the relay bank behind the glove box you will likely see in short order the joint/bad connection on the heavy red wire I am speaking about-most people cut the connection out and solder and heatshrink that wire solid.

The resistor is located on top of the heater box facing down and patience and small hands go a long way in changing it with as little swearing as possible, unfasten the relay block for slightly better access.

While you are there, polish the paint away from a blower motor mounting tab and screw and add a good ground under that screw to a solid grounding point on a dash mount or body mount.

Poor grounds at the blower motor contribute to many burnt out blower components.
