6.2 Litre Chevrolet Turbo Help

Hello,

I have a 1993 6.2 4X4 stick Chevy that I want to turbo. A guy I'm messaging has a full bolt on kit(6.5 conversion) for the truck but I'm unsure how the engine will handle a turbo/my truck has A/C so I am worried about installation issues.

The truck has 367,000 kms on it and sounds great and starts right up.
Ive been reading a lot online but want to know what some of you think in my situation.

What will I need to prevent any damage to the engine? Gauges? 6.5 heads? Upgraded cooling?

Keep in mind I am new to diesels and I'm trying to learn as much as possible

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any input.

How many miles on current engine???? if it were me I would try to keep it around 7ish PSI you will tell the diffrence and as for the bolt on kit you are talking about not sure if you can keep the A/C or not but scout the junkyards around where you live you can probaly get a stock one from a 6.5 w AIR for dirt cheap as a nobody wants 6.2/6.5s craigslist good place I have seen stock set ups complete for $150/200ish

EGT gauge mandatory and limit exhaust temps to 1100 F-use the EGT probe tab for location on the passenger side 6.5 turbo manifold.
The 6.2 pistons are not coated like the 6.5 pistons so keeping them cooler is important.

A super clean rad and the rest of the cooling stack along with a working clutch fan.

A Diamond Eye exhaust is a good upgrade since it corrects the stock downpipe and you will want a good exhaust crossover pipe also.

6.5 F intake is a better choice than an S intake.

Boost gauge is a good idea and 93 turbo or turbomaster on a newer turbo for boost control.
