Hard starting when hot
Ok guys. Got a 94 k3500 6.5 td that damn near wont start after being driven for a while.
I pour water over the ip and it starts which I've heard means its the ip. BUT once it fires up it runs like a sewing machine. No problems no stalling no nothing. I've been told that it may be the shut off solenoid or he tps. Or the pdm. I have the relocated pdm on it already Any advice on how to narrow it down before I spend 1500 on a new pump!?!?!?!?!:argh::scare2: |
Cool water poured over the hot non starting IP then it fires up =time for new IP or have the old one rebuilt
|
Cranking speed is too slow to create enough pressure to pop the injectors in a worn IP-running speed is significantly faster and will mask a bad IP.

The rotor inside the pump gets worn out, that's in the head due to ultra low sulfur diesel not a enough lube.
The new pumps/ rebuilt pumps have a harden steel head which can cope with the new type of diesel fuel.. $200 -$300 for a rebuild and it will run like a champ:c: |
