First thread....Tranny Issue

Hey guys first time saying hello:hellox:

So my truck is a :

94 Chevy 2500 ,4x4 ,auto,6.5 turbo, 6lug nut model.

My trucks tranny just whent...great... its a 4l80e.

So im able to purchase a 4l80e from a friend which is coming out of a:

96 gmc ,3500,4x4,auto,6.5 turbo dually.

Iv called around to some tranny shops and they both said they should be the same , so I thought I would just see what you guys think.

Shouldn't be much difference. I think the biggest change in vehicle years is mostly the engine electronics.

Yes the tranny is the same they have used that transmission since the first design 6.5 in military hmmv, and they changed to allison when the duramax came out i personaly would measure the length of the two trannys and the bolt pattern. good luck
