1993 6.5 TD Cooling System Leak

I have a 2WD K2500 pickup. Had small leak where top heater hose connects to coolant manifold. Where the heater hose tees off there is a connector. The connector nipple broke off in the manifold. I purchased two different extractor tools but neither would remove the broken nipple. How can I extract the remainder of the nipple - it seems to be almost impossible to remove. Removed the manifold but having troule replacing it. I don't even know what the piece is called. Help if you can! Thx, Kurt

Take the coolant crossover manifold to your local engine rebuilder and let them take out the broken fitting-cheaper than replacing the manifold.

You can put the manifold in vise and carefully air saw out the broken fittingwith several tapered cuts then carefully chisel it in on itself. People generally replace fitting with barbed one.
