Fuel filter diff?

I bought a replacement filter and it won't work because of this NAPA filter is all one piece, so the ring that holds down the new filter is gone. :dang: Anybody run into this before? Check out how nasty the old filter is. Both rubber fuel lines going to the injection pump are hard, loose and leaking. Do these lines have to be fuel injection hose or will regular fuel line work?

You'll probably have to return the replacement filter and buya one piece like the napa gold. The fuel line coming from the tank and the lines between the fuel filter manager and IP are only subjected to 7 psi stock. Regular fuel line will work just fine.

cviola os corect on both matters but if it were me I would find clear fuel rated hose that way if in the future you were to have an air problem it would be easy enough to spot

Just like you said

That NAPA filter was $40.00 out the door! :scare2:
I replaced all three hoses with fuel injection hose since there was so little of it. They were original even though the IP had been replaced by the previous owner. Truck seems to start better and runs great. How often should this fuel filter be changed? I'm thinking to add a filter before the lift pump, who knows what condition the sock in the tank is in. :humm:

check with your local Napa because around here every other Friday is half off filter day all Napa Gold filters air, fuel and oil filters are half off and all Napa Gold filter are the same as Wix

Might want to go to a wrecking yard and pick up a plastic filter nut so if you ever get an old style filter you can still use it-I keep mine in the glovebox.

I found out O'Riellys has the same WIX filter 33976. $10.00 cheaper and in stock.
The truck now seems to start easier but still takes a few seconds before it hits on all 8. I'm also not getting any SES lights while driving anymore. Truck runs great, love driving it.

Not hitting on all 8 from a cold start often indicates some non working glow plugs, poor injector spray pattern or low compression.

OK, I have another leak from the FFM and I'm guessing since I didn't have an o-ring for the fuel/heater water sensor it's probably that. Where can I get one? I'm going to check it today with an inspection mirror to see where it's actually coming from but it's got to be that...

Leroy Diesel sells seal kits or your local hydraulic store might match it up-it is a sqaure cut ring.
