wvo
I have a greasecar kit on my '98 6.5 td, but it seems the IP is not well suited to running on veg oil. the kit is set from the factory to switch to vegoil at 150 deg engine temp, but that means that the veg is going into the IP at around 70 deg. Looks like I just cooked my second IP with only 300 km on it (used). Anyone having any luck with this engine on veg?

WVO is terrible on these IP's the money you are saving by not paying for fuel should go into a jar marked [new Injection Pump Fund] havent heard of anyone getting more than a few Thousand miles on a IP with WVO in a 6.5

I'm hoping that a different config to get the veg up to a much hotter temp will at least partially solve this problem, but i'm hesitant to put more $ into it...
3G for the conversion 1G for a IP replacement close to a G in towing fees having a hobby to spend some $$ on ....priceless :argh: |
WVO is a poor lubricant and our IP's rely on the fuel to do said lubricating some systems unlike our 6.5s utilize the engine oil to lubricate the IP's close to 5 G's is a lot of money to dump into a hobby IMO but good luck with you're endevor if you can figure it out alot of people would benefit greatly

The mechanical IP 6.5's work well on WVO-the electronic ones however do not tolerate it very well.
The fuel must be extremely clean because the optical sensor must be able to see through it to operate-that is the weak link with the electronic IP's. |
so the answer is probably a certrifuge....thx
