power steering squeal
 

hey everyone just picked up an 85 c20 with a 6.2 i have a problem where i get a loud squeal from the power steering almost sounds like the belt but i just replaced it. the noise doesnt happen at idle but when i accelerate but if i let off it goe away slowly when i turn the wheel like coming out of a parking space and if i press on the brake pedal more than like a third tried searching didnt find anything thanks all

Try adding a little seafoam transtune to the power steering pump if that does not work you may want to replace the power steering pump I would say a reman would not be all that much

This may not help you at all but on 6.5's there is bracket on bottom of pump that bolts to block the bolt will work loose or come out causing pump to move under a load.I don't know if 6.2's have this or not but it might be worth checking out.

Usually when your power steering starts making noise, its a good sign that your low on fluid. Probably check your fluid level. That should mask the problem cause you might have a leak.
