Could possibly be the PMD, do you have it relocated.

detroitdiesel idi 03-06-2013 11:48 PM

I believe mayhem said that because you werent giving us enough information about the truck and symptoms. like ses light etc. or if the pmd is relocated or fuel pressure.we cant tell whats wrong with it by sayin my trucks stock and it stalls whats wrong? more info please

fflarry40 03-07-2013 07:45 PM

I can't say what his is /////mine a 94 / 6.5-auto...new pmd..re-located...mech checked the chip......re-built ip...mech checked the timing.....new lp....Truck will sit in driveway an idle great.....can't go 500 yds driving/and it will stall like you turn the key off/play hell re-starting.New lp...new diesel fuel cap..Ain't got anymore money to put into this thing.Any ideas??????:argh::argh:

Mase 03-07-2013 08:04 PM

Are your fuel lines in good shape. Both of you

fflarry40 03-07-2013 08:15 PM

mech fixed some under the fuel filter....Ran great wed....ran about 4 hrs/then speedometer quit working..so it wouldn't shift into over-drive...limped home/it started missing-stalling...I just picked this up from mechanic tuesday.:dang:

Mayhem 03-07-2013 08:25 PM

Might have a faulty OPS you say it idles fine but under a load dying/hesitation sounds like OPS

Mase 03-07-2013 08:44 PM

If you paid to have it fixed i believe i,d try make him fix it

Andyproenza 03-07-2013 11:14 PM

Sorry I no nothing about this truck I just got it 3 weeks ago but I do no there is no pmd relocate and when driving I give it gas and the check engine light comes on let off of the gas then it will go off it has a switch in it for a fuel pump that will run consent till you turn it off. + I had the cat taken off as well as the muffler. And how can I tell what gears are in it cuz it's really slow. That's all I no thank you guys

detroitdiesel idi 03-07-2013 11:20 PM

Go to autozone and have them checked the stored code from the service engine soon light and they can give u the code then tell us what the code number they give u is..its free.

fflarry40 03-08-2013 08:30 AM

Okay,do you have any idea on the transmisson/wouldn't shift into OD??????

detroitdiesel idi 03-08-2013 09:56 AM

Low tranny fluid,torque converter,shift solenoid,ecu? overdrive unit

Andyproenza 03-08-2013 02:38 PM

Ok I got the the codes it was dtc 44 and 45

Mayhem 03-08-2013 03:36 PM

Is the 8th digit a S or an F on the vin number on your truck?? if it is a S you are having EGR issues you may need to pull the upper part of the intake apart and do some cleaning as these places build up junk and will throw them codes and cause poor performance

ruttmaster 03-08-2013 04:13 PM

Those are EGR CODES

Andyproenza 03-08-2013 04:55 PM

Will that cause the truck to stall out at an idle?

fflarry40 03-09-2013 09:28 AM

mine wouldn't start friday , so ended up calling the mech to pick-up.So I didn't get to check anything....Opened the t-handle drain/flowed slowly....still wouldn't start.:argh:

racer55 03-09-2013 05:47 PM

No LP operation while the engine is running combined with a pin hole in the fuel line between the fuel level in the tank and the LP will cause a stall.

The oil pressure switch powers the lift pump when the engine runs and is a common failure point-replace with AC Delco ONLY!
Also google"OPS relay mod" as well as repair the fuel line air leak-often caused by a rotten sending unit on top of the tank.

Also replace the fuel return line at the frt of the IP with a piece of clear diesel rated fuel line-it is very useful to monitor the fuel flow for bubbles-bubbles indicate air intrusion and these IP's don't tolerate that very well.

Those are codes for a egr solenoid but 2500 and 3500 trucks are non egr..im wondering if ur vaccum system is malfunctioning? id test your vaccum pump..google how to check it its located on pass side beneath ac compressor

fflarry40 03-31-2013 08:15 AM

Got mine back from the mechanic-----bad ingnition switch----op had already been by-passed. The new LP was defective....warranty...Trans was speed senser(has 2 on the transmission-was able to reach from outside) checked/one had fluid in the conector..Replaced.....so now the steering wheel:jump::rocking::yeah::c:
