Thoughts on Biodiesel

I was talking to a guy that is using biodiesel in his rig. He was happy with it but said it is something of a solvent and cleaned out his engine for the first tank or so. Then everything was back to normal.

I am considering using biodiesel and did a quick search through the threads and did not see any discussion so I thought I would ask the question: how many folks out there are using biodiesel? What are yalls thoughts on biodiesels use?

Works ok if filtered well on mechanical IP's,not so much with electronic IP's-it can cloud the optical sensor and cause all sorts of driveability issues.

If using vegie oil it also needs to be pre heated and most who use it start and run on diesel until up to temp then switch over-then switch back to diesel to flush out at shutdown.

The OS in in the top of the IP,it does several things like let the ECM know what cylinder the IP is firing and it aids with determining timing ect.
