missing at start

first of all im new to the forum and diesel motors but not new to turning a wrench ..i just traded for a 94 1500 z71 with a turbo 6.5 in it...i was stoked ran nice while buddy was here (drove 50 km to bring it to me) and shortly after he left i wanted to go check it out with a buddy and fired it up and it sounded like a bag of sh** compared to about a hr earlier ..sounds like its missing and engine shakes ....took it for a short run and it went away ran fine for starting and shutting off ...next morning started it up ran nice for a sec and went back to sh** ..so i looked online did the lp tests u guys talked about ..and passed ..now im scratchin my head wondering where to go from here..

PMD is always a suspect with an electronic IP,especially if it is still located on the IP-a relocation kit is a must.

Any trouble codes?

Any actual symptoms besides crap runner?

engine shakes a bit and a little loss of power but when the shaking (missing) stops and its running fine ..there no issues ....were u thinkin replace the pmd? or just relocate it? do they funtion partialy ? ill run the codes and see what i come up with ...

If the PMD is labeled anything other than Stanadyne, then I would relocate a new PMD outside the engine bay and leave the old one where it is.

Yes they can operate partially or poorly when failing.
