Howdy all!
I have a 93 2500 GMC with a 6.2 which is exhibiting the symptoms of a worn out injection pump, at least I'm pretty sure after reading all the helpful info on this site. Cranks and starts cold just fine, runs fine, but once it reaches operating temp and is shut off and given a few minutes to start cooling off, it will absolutly not start back at all until it cools all the way down or has water poured over the injetion pump. When this first started occuring it would be occasional and turned a couple 15 min trips to walmart into 3 hour naps in the parking lot before learned the water trick! I ended up buying another pump from a friend of a friend (always taking a risk that way but he only wanted 200 bucks so i decided to try it out) and I'm now starting the process of swapping connections and stuff on the pumps before installing the replacement pump when I noticed a difference that bothered me and I really need someones advice on. The info on the manufacturing plates are a little off.
Pump from truck; Model: B3 DB2829 R.P.M.:5056
Pump I bought; Model: DB2829 R.P.M.:4520
I guess my main question is; Will this pump work on my motor?

ok, i found out that the number is just an extention of the model number. they are all rated for the same rpm. so i started changing the pieces needed over and DA me pulled the input shaft out without checking the placement of the allignment dowel in relation to the fuel screw. since it can only go in two different ways i figure i have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. anybody got any idea of which way it goes? ive been combing through pics and haven't had any luck yet.
