Glow Plug Driver

Hi,

I'm a newby here but I have a question. I have several issues with my K2500 but one of my pressing issues is it not starting in cold weather. I've changed the glow plugs out and they needed it. Yet I still have issues with it starting and yes, I have the block heater plugged in. This leaves me with the glow plug driver.

Can someone tell me what the part number is and how to change it out?

Thanks,
:pca1:

Need to know the year of the truck, there are more than 1 glow plug relay to choose from.
Also they are activated differently depending on year.

Have you checked for voltage at each glow plug when the glow light is on?
Each plug has a fusible link as well as the glow harness for each side of the engine has a fusible link.

It's a '94 K2500.

No have haven't check the voltage at each plug. I will do this.

AC DELCO Part # 212366
Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 12496472 (GM)

To change it disconnect the wiring and remove it from the studs it is mounted to under the wiper motor at the drivers side rear of the engine.
Be careful not to disturb those studs because they go into the cylinder head water jacket and can cause a leak.
Note:1 of the heavy wires is always powered up(comes from a battery + connection),wrap it with electrical tape when removed to prevent a fire hazard.

I've ordered the relay, thank you.
