1996 suburban need mechanic south AL

We have a 96 diesel 6.5 turbo! Lie his truck but it has issues right now! Symptoms simar to failed pmd. Replaced it and moved it! Was good for about 6mhs and then same problems. Engines cuts off/stalls no sputtering.just off! May crank immediately maybe not. Fuel gauge goes crazy. We have a big family and would live this truck running but don't have time to repair it! DOes anyone know of a good me Janice in AL, preferable central to south but at this point anywhere in Al! Need to fix or sell it...

Was the PMD relocated on top of the intake or the firewall? if so try pouring cool water on it if it fires then you will know that you will have to replace the PMD,is the PMD mounted on a heat sink??? not on a heat sink will drastically reduce the life span of a PMD....

Mayhem,

we used a heat sync and its mounted on top of the engine, where the "turbo diesel" cover is suppose to be. Is your opinion what is the lifespan of a PMD?

With the PMD located on top of the engine lifespan of only a few months is not unheard of you need to replace it and put it behind where the front license plate is you can use a peice of angle iron with a notch cut in the middle for a bracket the is less vibration and it is a lot cooler to have it there than on top of the engine, vibrations+heat=electronics failure it's just a matter of time when you have those contributing factors
