1993 chevy 6.5 td needin guidance/advice
Hi I have a 93 6.5 td bought it with a blown motor for 500$ (rust free body) new 6.5 going back in with new injectors and pump I'm planning to use this as my farm truck and use it for some pulling I have heard that 6.5s have a bad rap for gettin hot. I was thinking about putting an hx35/40 with an intercooler on it or water injection is this a good idea? How hard is the swap ? If I don't do this then I'm going to put a new stock turbo on it and if I went stock turbo what about an intercooler or water injection on it ?
I read that te first thing I should do is go with a bigger down pipe crossover pipe and exhaust on it. The next question relates to the cooling system ssdiesel offeres a bigger water pump kit do any of yo all have experience with this? I need to keep this thin Alive while pulling which is my main goal any and all advice would be appreciated Thanks, Will |
How much wieght do you plan on pulling my truck is mostly stock and it will pull 10K well enough but I would'nt push it beyond that if you are planning on more than 10K you may want another truck as far as the intercooler goes it will lower the EGT's there for prolonging the life of the truck.

I have a 34ft gooseneck that I load with 200 bales of hay and I need it to pull my tractor as well A case jx75 with a cab

Just put HO pump in with screw on clutch and a duramax fan and clutch will fit right on
|
Wouldn't I need a dual thermostat for that?
