The Diesel Community Looses A Brother Ari Squire

One of our fellow diesel heads passed away. For those of you that didnt know Ari Squire, he was an avid racer and sled puller that was a friend to myself and many others. If you ever got a chance to meet him you knew that he was a good man and was loved by everyone. He was the brains behind Hellafast Products. Ari, you will be sorely missed brother. :(

Lake Barrington man found dead was crushed by truck

Feb 25, 2008 @ 07:22 AM

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

LAKE BARRINGTON - Lake County authorities say a Lake Barrington man found dead in his burning garage over the weekend didn’t die from the fire, but was instead crushed when the pickup truck he was working on fell on top of him.
Lake County Coroner Richard Keller has identified the victim of Saturday’s accident as 39-year-old Ari Squire.
Keller said Squire died immediately from crushing injuries to the chest.
The Wauconda Fire Department received a call Saturday morning about smoke coming from Squire’s garage.
Police originally thought the fire killed Squire, but Keller said he was dead before it started.

do they suspect foul play?

Johnny Cetane 02-28-2008 02:25 PM

i don't know him or anything about him. I hope his family and friends get through this.

DangerousDuramax 02-28-2008 02:29 PM

No, it was purely an accident. His truck was not properly secured on jack stands and it fell on his chest. The fire is thought to be started by an overturned heater.

FYI- the second link in my first post is to the online guest register. Those of you that knew him should go and sign it.

Oh My God, I knew Ari real well, I hung out w/ him at both of the DHRA world finals.
One heck of a nice guy. Really new his stuff.
What a tragic loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Sam, Ari was one of those people that never knew an enemy. He would literally take the shirt off his back for you if you were in need and was one of the nicest people you would ever meet. I dont think there was a mean bone in his body and you would never know if he was upset about something. His knowledge on building pulling trucks seemed limitless. He was a super human being and will be greatly missed. :argh:

That's too bad DD. I didn't know the guy but it sounds as though he was a good friend.

My heart goes out to the family.

IIRC he is the guy with the White Duramax DRW and converted it to a SRW for the pulling.

I know for sure he hung out with us on Saturday in Houston last year. His truck was the only one I ever saw with more lights then Skipps, he was one heck of a nice guy.

Yep that is him. He had the yellow emergency lights on top and it said "Peacemaker"
on his truck.
In hindsight that said a lot about him.

Tracy pretty much sums it up, He was the nicest guy you would ever meet.
