Love this movie!!

I really liked it! It is On Demand through the History channel. Spent time after part 3 was done, googling and reading up on the "real" story, seems the History Channel did pretty well, but some differences.

1999stroker 05-31-2012 11:59 AM

Yeah me to. It didn't say anything about Randall mccoy dying in a fire.but it was a great story.I always was into history and "old stories" from the past. I wish times were like that now, no cares just you and your family with a big plot of land like my grandpa had in Kentucky those were the days

I found one reference that did say Randall died in a fire, after the fued ended, and he became a ferry boat driver.

Things are definitely very different now, we've lost alot of freedoms, but we've gained a lot of things too. I am not sure I'd want to live back then, notsure I wouldn't. I'd like to visit, and see what it was really like.

Im not saying id want to go back that far just back to when it was a simpler life style and not all the separation in the us there is. when people were united. I definatley am thinking about loading up the truck and heading to west virginia and ride some of the trailers and visit land marks.

I would have loved to meet Popcorn, it's a shame he took his own life after the Feds cracked down on him and were about to send him to jail. The Hatfield Mcoy trail is a ATV paradise, the little towns don't mind you driving your 4wheeler up to the gas pumps or reseraunts. I have heard from fiends it it an awsome ride.

Benjamin 06-01-2012 07:47 PM

not reading the comments, don't want anyone to spoil it for me, I DVR'd it so i could watch all 3 episodes tomorrow..... commercial free.....:pca1:

sunsetsky 06-05-2012 12:08 PM

Benjamin, did you want them?

If so, Bob, who's Popcorn? I don't remember the character/person.

I'm interested in the learning about the fued because I like to approach history as things that happened to or were done by real people, and why they did them, not just politics, war and geography.

bobfbigman 06-06-2012 12:52 AM

Popcorn Sutton was one of the nations leader is the making of moonshine, he was on the show Moonshiners, not Hatfields and Mcoys. The gov cracked down on him hard, he was making thousands of gallons for over 50 years, it was his life and when he was going to be jailed he decided to end his life instead of letting the gov run his life, the guy still drove a model T pickup in the hills.

1999stroker 06-06-2012 01:02 AM

Yeah popcorn was a great man.google popcorn sutton. He had a huge operation.
